I have been pondering taking a dance class of some kind. There are a couple obstacles in the way of that taking place, money being one, babysitting being another. So then I ponder exactly why I’m interested in a dance class because if I can identify the need I’m trying to fill I may be able to fill it in a different way. It didn’t take much thought to figure out what a dance class would provide: Focused physical activity and Time away from the kids. Going to the gym used to provide those for me. I don’t at all regret signing over the membership to Howard. He makes such good use of it. I do miss what it used to provide.
I haven’t found a solution to this yet. I’ll just have to make do.
Let Howard watch the kids and take a long walk?
Or, let Howard watch the kids and go biking?
You can pick a certain distance you’re going to go, a certain path you’re going to take, or a certain amount of time you’re going to spend.
I SSSOOO know what it’s like trying to have time for yourself when you have little kids…being in school has been my salvation (though the last few weeks have been crazy-finals and such) but I would highly recommend it…granted I’m in school full time and it might not be practical for you, still, take the class…it will help you…:) *HUGS* best of luck…
It wouldn’t be a solution to the time without the kids, but you could get the physical activity from dancing if you got Dance Dance Revolution. I’m not sure what system(s) you have, but there are versions for the Playstation, Playstation 2, and X-Box. I love it to death, and if you play it enough, you get awesome calves.
We saw Dance Dance Revolution at a convention and loved it. We were planning on getting it for the kids for Christmas since we already have an Xbox, but then money got much tighter and we had to choose less expensive presents. Cool idea though. DDR for xbox is still on my mental wish list.
“for the kids” I said. Hee hee.
I just have to tell myself the same thing I tell the kids when they want something pricey. “Save up your money.”
EH, if you get good at it, it’d be a good thing for your kids to use at school:
“My MOTHER could beat you at DDR.”
