This morning: We learned that our layout guy is ready to move on to other things and will not be able to do any further books for us once this project is done.
Around noon: We learned that a large chunk of money that we’ve been expecting for three months is never going to come.
Afternoon, 5 minutes before the start of den meeting: I learned that I am no longer allowed to bring Gleek and Patches with me to cub scouts because they run amok and are a liability issue.
Things come in threes.
I hope this means I can be done with bad news for awhile.
I wish you three good things to match or exceed your three bad things.
Eep. And I thought I was having a bad day yesterday with just one piece of bad news.
I’ll understand completely if it’s none of my business, or if you can’t talk about it for legal/business reasons, but I have to admit to some curiosity regarding the second thing. Did a creditor go under or something?
For what it’s worth, seeing you and Howard handle everything that you have over the last few years, I have complete faith in your abilities to weather the storm, as unpleasant as it might be for a while.
I understand your curiosity, but that’s all we intend to say in public right now. Sorry.
Thanks for the vote of confidence though. I think we’ll pull through as well, but everything is riding on the sales of the next book.
Put up an order form, and I’ll work on getting everyone I know to fill it out.
Oy. That sucks. Let’s hope for three good things for tomorrow to make up for it.
Not a problem; I’m just naturally curious. 🙂 Sorry if I overstepped.
I can’t wait for the next book! 😀
Yeep! I hope today went MUCH better. O_O
WHAT?!
Who told you your own kids can’t be at YOUR Den meeting?
SoccerGirl is with us at all our den meetings…
in fact we gave her a title, “Cub Scout Sister” and she even has a tan shirt to wear.
Anyway… who? and why? and IF they really did have any sort of authority to tell you this, does that mean you have to find a babysitter just to have a den meeting?
sorry, I’m just slightly outraged.
good luck.
Re: WHAT?!
The den meetings are held at the church building. I have to focus on paying attention to Webelos rather than to Gleek and Patches. This means they tend to wander through the building, play on the stage, etc. Other moms were bringing their kids and letting them do the same. The problem is in letting kids run unsupervised through the church building. I’m not upset about the decision. I was frustrated that I was not given more advanced warning.
If I chose to have den meetings at my house, then Gleek and Patches could attend with no trouble.
In the end it is better to have them somewhere else. They aren’t interested in the Webelos activities and just distract me from the boys that I’m supposed to be paying attention to.
