A good night’s sleep does much to settle emotional turmoil. This morning Kiki is completely on board with not giving up. She expressed complete understanding of why I’m requiring it. Apparently last night she was refusing to admit out loud I was right even though she could totally see that I was. There will probably still be moaning and groaning about German study, but I think the major battle is over.

Yay! 🙂 I know it must be a relief even though down deep you probably expected that to happen.
Yay for you! <3
Coolness. Smart kid, and glad to hear she’s not harboring resentment.
There’s also the lesson of “stick with what you started” … consequences of giving up on a class (bad grade) are a far cry from consequences of giving up, say, on a picture technique that’s not working out (cost of supplies).
Congratulations.
She might enjoy Latin. It’s fun learning all the various word roots and history, and a big help if you end up taking one of the Latin-based languages later on.
I hope she can keep that attitude until the end of the school year.
